We have the honour to bring our complaints

to your kind notice for an increase of pay on the following

reasons;-

1. The members of the Indian Police Contingent are

natives of Punjab in India, nearly half of them are Sikhs and half Mahomedans in all ranks. The present strength of Force is

387 men, out of which there are 2 Jemadars, 2 Sergeant-Majors, 15 Sergeants, 30 Lance-Sergeants and remainder constables. The

Indian Police Force was established in 1867 and the Pay of the

different ranks now is as follows:-

1 Jemadar.
